In addition, start saving up money because there will likely be an application fee of around $500. If you require an attorney, expect to spend another $500 - $1500.

Good luck everyone!

so bank statements are a must? I've been saving my whole life and I'm worried that once they take a look at my balance, they deny my I-765...

I'm now unemployed and currently in college....

I need to speak to a lawyer and see what the limit of savings one can have in order to qualify for economic necessity...

How much is too much? I have several thousands on my card only because my parents deposited it for my tuition next semester

Dude, take a deep breath lol we don't even know how the application works.

A work permit is step 2 out of 3 (3 out of 3 being the license)

Why would they reject you though? Yeah, 70K is a lot of money but you won't be able to retire on it, you'll still HAVE to work to survive.

true, but they might expect me to spend some of it until I can prove that I need a job to survive....

I'm just going to call Mario Lobo from Despierta America cuz this is killing me. I'm sure he will be able to tell me what will be asked in the interview and if having a lot of money saved up will disqualify me for EAD...

I never got around to doing the Selective Service thing. It always asked for a social security number on the website, which I don't have. Is it too late now to do anything about it?

Also, I only have one bill that is in my name. Otherwise since I graduated HS, I haven't done much. I pretty much keep the house clean for my parents and help my younger sister with her school, and I babysit for a few neighbors, and they always pay me cash. So I don't have many things proving I've been here since I graduated in 2008.

Also, I am a student in FIU, but I haven't taken any classes since 09. I am signing up for the fall term, but is it too late now?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
