The lawyer I spoke to also told me to get a record of the citation I received for driving without a license---I would also have to prove that I paid the ticket.

I will call the PD where I was cited but since I don't have a case or reference#, I might not get squat...

Have you guys asked about DWL citations?

I'm thinking they'll come up with the background check but who knows..

You should not worry about this. Driving without a license is only serious in this case if you got caught more than 3 times.

I've been stopped twice and got 'driving w/o a license' tickets. I was given the option to pay online so i paid them in full.
I'm worried i'll get in deep trouble if i get stopped a third time.
According to the USCIS faq:

[[[ How many non-significant misdemeanors constitute “multiple misdemeanors” making an individual ineligible for an exercise of prosecutorial discretion under this new process?
An individual who is not convicted of a significant misdemeanor but is convicted of three or more other misdemeanors not occurring on the same day and not arising out of the same act, omission, or scheme of misconduct is not eligible to be considered for deferred action under this new process.]]]

Since getting a third 'no license' ticket would arise out of the same act does it mean it would not make me ineligible?

How do you guys interpret those lines?

There is no public transportation where i live. I'm taking summer school and i have to drive. Why does it say "not arising out of the same act"? that's what i'm confused about.

I think it's saying if you're charged with two misdemeanors out of one crime it'll count as one.
