Dunno if this is relevant, but was it because these dreamers were already in deportation proceedings?

“An hour after the announcement was made, we refiled for them,” says Eleni Wolfe-Roubatis, a supervising attorney for the Heartland Alliance's National Immigration Justice Center's detention project, which has spent hundreds of hours on the Robles' brothers' case.

From the article above:

The brothers now have Illinois driver's licenses and employment authorization cards.
It's been only two weeks since the announcement, and they obtained their EADs this quickly? Expedited process, or what's going on here? The concensus on this forum is that EAD cards take 60-90 days to obtain after you apply.

isnt that a good thing? once we start applying the process might be as quick as theirs.

Right. You can apply for Deferred Action if you're in removal proceedings through ICE. So they got that right away.

But, then you still have to submit a different application for an EAD with the approved Deferred Action. Or least that was what was assumed up to now. Unless the application process actually consists of applying for Deferred Action and EAD at the same time (and even then, less than 15 days to get the EAD seems incredibly quick, based on what I've read on these boards).

EDIT: Sorry, iDream. I replied before you edited your post. lol Yes, it is a very good thing.
