I'm not sure. A friend of mine found out about my status a few weeks ago and we haven't really talked much since. Previously we used to hang out about once a week or so, but now... she's too busy. Mind you, she has a job and a boyfriend and stuff so I know that she is busy, but /still/..

I haven't lost friends over my status, cuz my friends are real laid back and cool. Also they dont know my status...they have hinted that they think im undocumented, but they will never know for sure. Lol

On the other hand I have lost a 5 year relationship with a great girl over it. It sucks to be honest, but im a firm believer that whatever has happened has happened for a reason. It's her loss anyways. Not to brag, but they dont come much better than me.

i totally feel your pain. I personally have never told any of my friends about my status, but i do agree with you that telling them the truth will forever change their views on me either in the good or bad way. Don't be discouraged though, you are not alone in this situation.

What kind of friends are those?

Many of you guys have a very skewed definition of friends. My friends know, they are very supportive and the provide with help and emotional support. They also admire my accomplishments and will to keep fighting!

Friends are with you no matter what...

Yes me!! I lost all my high school friends. since graduation (2008 )I kind of drifted myself apart from them because I didn't feel like I fit in anymore.. I always had to make up excuses and lies about almost everything to keep them from even suspecting that I was undocumented. I was that kind of girl that cared what everybody had to say about me.

I hang out with only girls, I really do not have male friends. Girls do not care about that kind of things.

I love them.

My friends would be cool if i told them im undocumented. With my thing though, i only tell people what they need to know. My immigration status isn't compelling story IMO, and i dont want or need compassion. That's the only reason i haven't told them.
