This is not pertinent to info on the Dream Act legislation or deffered action for possible dreamers, but it does share what are some opinions of the people out there.

I know a lot of those responses come from bigoted, racism, and illiterate folk, but at least they are honest. Hiding behind anonymity allows you to share your true thoughts with more ease. No reason to not say what hatred they feel.

So I just share this article to remind you to represent dreamers properly. Treat others with respect and clear that FUD that the ignorant spread about illegals or dreamers with knowledge and information. Sounding as stupid as Dobbs did when talking to Vargas doesn't win arguments or sway people. If it does, then we are all screwed.

One thing I don't understand. The guy is 35 years old and was brought in at age of 17 months, meaning that his parents brought him in 1978-1980, shouldn't he be covered under the 1986 immigration reform?

But... but I'M SPECIAL. I deserved to get legal. F everyone else

I remember having a conversation online with someone who said we should all go back where we came from and yadda yadda. So I asked him what made him worthy of staying in this country. I asked him if he served in the military, went to school, or personally applied for his own green card. Then he goes "I was born here".

Whoop de freakin' doo

Please do not waste your time reading their bigoted comments. They are simply not worth your time, it is only worth being mentioned if it is done civilly...

You should've put this in the Other Topics section.

The truth is, you will likely receive the same opinions and hated towards illegal immigration if you are illegal in another country other than the USA. The problem is.... this strong notion of "nationalism" that people get worked up over. In my opinion, nationalism is totally overrated when we should instead be viewing the world from a global perspective.

@Oranges, you might question your choice of staying here but the grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side either.

I'm curious too as to why he didn't adjust through the 1986 reform. The article mentions that he "was brought to the United States when he was 17 months old by his parents. They left to return to their native Mexico when Garcia was eight or nine, only to return to the United States again when he was 17." I'm not sure if this quote implies that only his parents left to Mexico, or Garcia and his parents.

Then it mentions that his father petitioned for him in 1994, and has been waiting ever since for a visa.

It seems the guy would qualify for the 1986 reform by his own merit, without being petitioned.

Think about how stupid the average person is. Then realize that half of all people are even stupider.
