Hello to all and a happy day that this August 3rd is. Many of us do not have the funds to
pay for lawyers. As such, I was wonding if anyone knew of free legal help in the souther CA area, like the OC, LA, or the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernandino). If anyone gets word that there will be help, I would be extremely gratefull if they would let others know in this forum or other sites. Thank you very much.

You don't necessarily need a lawyer to file these. Unless ofcourse you have some sort of odd condition (DUI, misdemeanor x2-3, removal proceedings, re-entry(felony), etc etc. )

Yes I know, but in the envelope that has my official (unopened) high school transcript they have my birth of date off by a years. I want to know if this could be an issue. It has the correct month and day but it has my year of birth off. Not just help for me but for other people too.

Hey, send me a private message and I'll forward this weekend info on organizations in LA, OC, etc. I'm at work, so can't do too much right now.

When I was 17, I went to court driving no license. I paid the fine and I couldn't drive for 6 months. I was driving yesterday. I went to the beach with my friends using my uncle's car. I was at a red light and I let go of my brake and my car tapped the car in front of me, but not hard, no property damage and the lady was fine. The lady pulled over to the side of the road but I got scared and panicked that I don't have my license, so I left the scene. She called the cops, and they caught me the next town. I have no idea why I left I just got so scared. Now I have to go to court 2 times, in 2 different courts.
The first time includes: no license, leaving scene, failing to report, falling too close.
second time: unlicensed driver. Will this count as a misdemeanor? Since I have to go to court twice, is it 2 different actions or counts as one because it resulted in one day? it just happened in 2 different towns.

Quote:
California Misdemeanor Hit and Run Involving Property Damage -- California Vehicle Code 20002 VC

In California, there are two types of hit & run offenses: misdemeanor and felony.

You may be charged with California misdemeanor hit and run if you:

leave the scene of an accident,

without first identifying yourself to the other party or parties involved, and

another's property was damaged in the accident.

The difference between California misdemeanor hit and run and California felony hit and run lies in number three above. While misdemeanor hit and run is concerned with property damage, felony hit and run is concerned with injury. You may be charged with the felony if someone (other than yourself) was injured.
Yeah, I'd call a lawyer if I were you. This isn't just a normal traffic violation but a flagrant disregard of others.
