Are people here in DA forums really against a person getting his or her GED after DACA was announced just so they can qualify?

I just want some opinions on this because from what I have heard the majority of people are against this.

Don't people deserve a second chance?

My opinion, strictly based on my experience and nothing else.

I don't support "free riders" due to an announcement. A majority of us has graduated high school, got GEDs, made good in higher education, etc etc. not knowing what entails in the future.

Pretty much didn't give up even tho it seemed so hopeless at times. I got my high school diploma, continued higher education, etc. I tried to make a better life for myself even if its just learning more things that I can "probably" use when Dream Act or something passes.

People that say drop out and didn't even bother getting a GED prior to the announcement.. yea, doesn't seem to have the good character to benefit to DACA/Dream Act.

Love me or hate me for my opinion and I'll respect yours either way.

Personally, I don't care. Who am I to judge their actions? If they get deferred action, great! Let's not pretend we wouldn't do the same if we were in their shoes.

To those that say that they make us look bad, get over it. The people who don't support DACA or the dream act don't like you, they never have and they never will. They will find any little reason to deny ALL of us a chance.

Yeah I understand, I am just like you I got my high school diploma, my associates, now going for my bachelor in EE and maybe will go for a PhD (definitively a masters).

But I mean, what about if the person had to work and couldn't finish High school, or similar. And now he heard about DACA, and it's a great opportunity for him.

Ofcourse, if I was in their situation, I would jump at the opportunity too. There's no doubt about that. Pretty much whatever differences we have, if one benefits from DACA/DA, we're all on the same big ass boat.

There are perhaps some super extenuating circumstances for which people may have dropped out of HS. Given the number of students who've had it bad and finished it however, it's a hard sell. Higher education is a whole different deal, many states didn't help out dreamers and I can see having to pull your weight in your household and going for a different skill that pays the bills.

Having said that, I've always supported CIR and feel everyone deserves to be treated as human beings which I feel is what DREAM and CIR end up doing. So nah, the more the merrier. Like I've said before, there's absolutely nothing lost from more people getting papers (other than rednecks' respect), especially young ones who have quite a bit of time to change/re-do their lives.

Who cares what people think bruh..
I don't

I'd be happy if each and every one of us gets this, however it is impossible...

It's not like I got my diploma solely for the DREAM Act lol I got it for myself.

I don't have a problem with it. Speaking for the Hispanic community, the more educated our community is, the better our future will be in this country and the better prepared we will be to fight four causes that affect us.

This is starting to become a hate forum.
But really? Who gives a shit? Just worry about your own.
All of us are free riding on this shit, no matter how clean your record is or how many degrees/certificate/smiley faces on your test papers thats under your belt.
