Hey everyone, I wanted to point out that The I-765 Instructions tells us the correct thing to put on the I-765 for questions 15 and 16. It's on page 5 of the instructions to the right hand side.

---
When completing the form I-765:

a. Enter "Unlawful Status: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals by ICE" for Question 15
b. Enter (c)(33) in question 16...

---

It makes sense. you will be granted the work permit AFTER you get approved for DACA. Therefore, your status will be DACA after being approved.

nice post, thanks. it was an oversight on my part, and at least benefited this one applicant.

Glad it helped! I was on hold to talk to them and I stumbled upon it.

part a is NOT true.
that is specifically under a subsection for people who are applying for DACA through ICE (because they were in removal proceedings or stopped by BP).
for the rest of us, you can put "unlawful status: DACA" like i did

I see your point theDream. It is specifically for those who had it done through ICE.

But they won't consider this, unless we qualify, though, so "Unlawful Status: DACA" makes sense.

Guys, what rev date shows up on the copy of instructions you are looking at. I don't think I have the correct instructions. Mine show 04/25/12.
