For those who arrived with a Visa and overstayed it, and have their expired passports stamped, who received Form I-444 instead of the I-94?

I arrived on Aug 9 1990 and have my expired passport stamped. I do not have my I-94. Instead, my mom was given I-444 (shown below) and it was only given to my mom and not me since I was underage at the time of my arrival.

However, my expired passport does contain the stamp with the same date (Aug 9 1990) and US Immigration numbers 150 ELP 1869 that are also shown on the I-444.

According to a fellow member here (dream_big12), stated she called USCIS and was told that for I-821D question 16 (asking about having I-94), to just include the information of the i-444 form on the additional information part (part 7 of the application).

Those with the I-444, how did you proceed on incorporating it on your application and how did you answer question 16?

I will also put my I-444!

@Will_con : The I-444 predates the I-94 and I believe it was given to Mexicans to legally cross the U.S./Mexico border.

The Mexican Border Visitor's Permit, Form I-444, is a record of entry issued by the Service at land border ports-of-entry along the United States/Mexico border to holders of Nonresident Alien Border Crossing Cards, Forms I-186 and I-586. The Nonresident Alien Border Crossing Card is issued in place of a nonimmigrant visa. Currently, Form I-444 is issued when the requested visit to the United States will be for more than 72 hours but less than 30 days in duration or when requested travel is more than 25 m iles from the United States/Mexico border but within the five states of Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, or Texas. The Service also issues Form I-444 to Mexican nationals who are in possession of valid Mexican passports and multiple-entry nonimmigrant visas requesting admission to the United States under the limitations described above.

It was eliminated in 1997, and replaced with the I-94.

I came with my mom, under her I-444 since I was a minor. My expired passport was stamped by US Immigration.

the information contained in this form clearly contains all the necessary information pertaining to the I-94. I would provide this in formation in Part 7 as it was suggested before, and because this VISA, B-2, shows entry, and expiration you should be able to satisfied you entered with B-2 Visa and are out of Status/Unlawful at this time.

Good Luck

Ok so just wondering, what year did they start giving I-94 forms to immigrants?

Oh... hmmm does that mean I don't have one? I came here in 1992. I just assumed we all got them since we came here legally on a B1/B2

Hey, I have the I-444 as well and was confused about this because I didn't know what to do with it. I have a question though. On the I-444 card that I have instead of saying B2 it says B1, will I have to put B1-Temporary Visitor for Business as the answer for question 15 on the I-821D form, even though that wouldn't have applied to me at the time since i was underage? Also, does the "Five" indicate how many travelers under that permit, because mine says 4?
