Because, once I receive my documents, I am thinking applying for advance parole, but to be honest, I would be scared to leave abroad, coming back in isn't 100% safe. =[ but it's my dream to visit my grandma and my home country and to be honest, I'm getting tired of waiting, but I don't know if I would take that chance not to be able to come back to America... This is my home and where I live. ahhh what do you guys think? will it be safe since where "legally illegal" for 2 years and stuff??

I, personally, would not take a risk. I only have two years left to graduate college. To much invested here. Just starting my new life (spiritually and mentally) now.

My attorney told me he advises no one to travel. It's going to be very hard for you to come back in. It's not worth it. Don't ruin this opportunity.

if granted advanced parole then yes you can come back. its not like they are going to say no sorry u cant go back. as long as you are granted parole. you can come back. it would be dumb if u didnt.

Yep, I agree. I think the OP is 19, but I'm 26. After living with this for so long, I'm adverse to risk when it comes to immigration. At 19, I would have definitely tried for advance parole to do a study abroad program or something but NOW? I just want to WORK, have my own place, and drive. Oh the simple things.

If people do travel, I highly recommend you guys talk about your process with a lawyer or do a wait and see how things play out politically in the next year or so.

I don't think you'd qualify anyway... I can't find the parole requirements right now but going to visit family and vacations are definitely not on the list.

They reject H1Bs sometimes! It will be even easier for them to reject you at the port of entry considering your status. :s

Advanced Parole is not easy to travel on for two reasons. It is not easy to approve and based on very limited individual circumstance and it is at CBP's discretion on if to allow you in not USCIS who approves it.Therefore, the circumstances need to be compelling enough for the individual to get over both hurdles.I think if you have sick family abroad with medical proof upon return in might be very possible to go and return but obviously the risk is still there.

I am certainly trying. My advance parole reasons would be for educational purposed. And as far as CBP's discretion goes, they would have very little reason to deny you , especially since most of us have very strong ties to the country after years of being here and also the fact that we would be returning to go to school.

I would try if my grandparents get sick, they're already close to their 90s and I would like to see them, it's terrible not being able to go and comeback for even just a few days.
