copies: color or black and white?

SUP peoplezzzz... Ok so I wanted to know if we have to photocopy our documents in color or b/w?
Today I went to Office Depot and the lady told me that government docs cannot be copied in color. So I want on and did everything black and white.
Is that cool? what do you know about this?
