so i got a transit ticket from the NYC MTA in 2006 (long story short, too cheap to pay, walked in, got caught by police, ticket issued with real name and address. dumb i know, was young and "reckless") . i asked my friend to pay with her checking account, she said she did back in 2006 but when i asked her to double check today, her online bank statement has nothing. she says she remembers writing the check and sending it but... i have doubts.

will this come up on my background check? i gave the officer my HS ID when he wrote the ticket.

what should i do?? i'm scared shit-less now...
sigh...

I think USCIS is only going to be looking at the crimes in which the person was arrested and booked into jail. If the police didn't have to take you down to the station then I wouldn't worry too much about it. But if you did then I would suggest you get a copy of your record and talk to a lawyer before you send in your application. Also, please read the guidelines, it says on there what kind of misdemeanors will or will not disqualify you.
