Are we going to get some special ID so if we get stopped for example by immigration we could prove that we're enrolled in the daca program?

Probably not, the costs of making an entire new ID will be very high for DHS. You should be good with your SSN, and your EAD, though.

I've wondered about that. Do those people simply have to carry their i-797 around?

There are 2 forms. One is for the deferred action and other is for the permit. If you don't get the permit, they will probably give you a protection paper for the 2 years.

I believe they will let you make ID/license that will expire in 2 years, and that should be enough to protect you.
