I live in a single parent household and I would really like to get a job to pay for my own tuition and supplies.
If I get a job as a waitress or something, would it be okay to apply and (if accepted) tell them I have an ITIN and am in the process of getting my status adjusted (toward EAD/SSN) and will prove SSN and EAD when granted DACA in 2-3 months?
Is this totally illegal?

It's not illegal if you tell them about your status before they hire you.

Its unlikely they will hire you because the itin# is solely for tax form purposes and it cannot be used for any other purposes. So you have to wait until the real ssn# before applying for a job

You can't use your Itin Number unless u want to get in trouble with the IRS... u may want to think in another solution, good luck.

Actually, it's the other way around. The IRS is always more than happy to take away your money, particularly if you have your own ITIN.

Chances are they won't allow you to work with an ITIN. Like others mentioned, you can ask to be paid cash until you get your SSN.
