You shoulve gotten to the consulado early. When i got my passport in NYC 3 yrs ago, i got to the consulado at 6am and left at 3pm! It was a long day. Just be patient and soon you will have your passport!

LOL, I'm glad I'm not from your country. I thought I had it bad with a 1hr wait. Early was 9AM.

But then again, I had to wait four weeks for them to process it, and then had to deal with another four weeks because I had to order NEW birth certificates, send it to them, and then finally get processed, LOL. It took about 10 weeks.

What kills me is that THEY had my original birth certificate so I had to call THEM to get the information off of that birth certificate so that I can order copies of a NEW birth certificate and send it to them. WTF? Why do I need a new birth certificate if my old one works just as well for you to get information off of? They just wanted my $$$$$

Some of these places are backwards.

Indeed, the whole thing should be processed with an original birth certificate. They keep one for the passport, so, get two or more always. It's because everything is paperwork and not done digitally, otherwise if they had everything on databases, it'd be quick to find your birth certificate and authenticate if you're really a citizen and bam, make passport, but nope, we're so behind...

Seems fair. I went to the Houston one last thursday. Went in at 9 came out at 12. But at the end of the day very worth it. Only thing was I got ripped off very bad in a copy making place in which they charged me $26 for 10 copies. Ill never forget again to ask the price first.

I know what pissed me off why make appointments, if they are going to accept both at the same time, people with or without appointment. They are so disorganized, and rude, but again I learned that they are not even trained and that they start off as volunteers. The consulate in Dallas is making 2 million dollars per month, still they treat people like shit, they think they are superior. Smh.

Yeah at the consulate for my country (Argentina), it is kind of packed, but not more than 2-3 hours. However, the processes take forever since they have to go down to Argentina to get authorized and such. I have to wait 4 months to just update my National Document of Identity, and then it's a couple more months to get my passport and finally my matricula :/

Oh hell no I feel bad for you guys. I went to mine with my birth certificate, paid VIP (around 100$ for the whole thing) and I was out of there in one hour with my new passport and an id from my country.
