I've read several people getting their Biometric appointment already but I don't think anyone has gone yet.

What exactly happens, what do they do? 0_O

Has anyone done this in the past?

I wonder if the appointments will be spread out or if we go there and there's a long line of fellow dreamers.

It's exactly what it sounds like.. biometrics. The identification of a human.
They take your fingerprints.. and they photograph you.

There is no required/confirmed interview that's part of this process that we all must do from what's been said.

My experience was in 2005 and was a bit foggy, BUT:

- Showed up there. Showed my letter, passport. They confirm your name. They take your fingerprints. They take a photograph of you. They also have you sign your name.

Not long at all.

The purpose of the photograph is for the EAD or for their records?

Chances are that this photograph will be the one for your EAD. If they used the ones everyone is sending in with their application, they'd have an insane amount of variety considering the different camera types, lighting, coloring, etc. different passport locations may have.

they cuff you and stuff..... just kidding

nah, it's very quick actually, i have done it like a million times and i have mastered it that the last time it only took me 4 minutes!!! okay, that really depends on how many people they are seeing that day.

it's very simple really, they just ask you for your i-767, then check your ID then take your finger prints then they take a picture and you are out.
