According to that, a accepted form I-797 grants you 4 points.

With that in mind, what would be the QUICKEST way to obtain your license?

wow i didn't know that.. i thought u needed an actual EAD do to it. you mean I797 for the EAD right?

i'm thinking they mean i797 for I485. why would they award more points to i797 for ead than the actual ead (3 points)?

It does also say you need a valid SS number, which could only be acquired through an EAD. I do wonder if that can be overlooked though.

Says an approved I-797 petition, not the I797c we currently have :P, if thats the case the ssn would be waivered but u'd have to provide it later on in the future

Yes, so what you're saying is that when the APPROVED I-797 arrives, we can just take that and obviously proof of address and that would be sufficient. Of course that is if they waive the SSN number.

well i take it you would need proof of identify, which is normally a passport - consulate card, school id also

also NJ says u need ssn, perhaps the SSA can issue an ssn with your I-797 approval petition? something id check out
otherwise wait til we get our EAD and SSN

^ I wonder if you had a 'not valid for work' SSN would work? Well anyway we have to wait until the I-797 for approval notice anyway before this can be attempted
