Just wondering if any Dreamers here are certified in Comptia A+ ?

I'll finish my college course July next year and I plan to take the test and start a part time computer tech business.

If you are studying CS/CIS/CpE/EE don't get certs unless you get sick of your field and want to downgrade your career to a PC technician/sysadmin position. If you want to work for a local computer shop they won't even care if you have certs or not because all that matters is if you can pass the technical interview. Most of what I gathered from the A+ book was old parts knowledge. My best advice for you is not to undercharge for your services, provide itemized receipts, and use a google voice number to keep your business and personal life separate. This will set you apart from all the fucking noobs and make you look professional.

I'm currently studying for the certification...I was never able to afford college and I've had to work in less than pleasurable occupations...so with the daca announcment I jumped at finallly being able to get into the IT career...
The places I've looked into all want some cert or at least exp...I have neither that relate to IT so I gotta start somewhere.

This.

Whenever you start doing anything, make yourself exceptional. It will really make you look better than those idiots on craigslist.

Lol. The industry is very stressful. Once you get older, you will not be able to keep up with all the changes in programming. A company established by you is your best escape.
