I'm planning on going back to school in the Spring semester but wanted to know what are the dates to apply for CA Dream Act. Is it like the FAFSA that you apply at the beginning of each year? If so, I'll have to pay out of pocket for the Spring semester right. For those who have already applied, was it difficult? What kind of help have you guys received?

I applied for CA Dream Act last spring, and I got my disbursement for Spring 2013.
The application is something that you can definitely do on your own. It's straightforward and not difficult.

I don't know how and when I should reapply for Fall 2013 yet. I assume the process will be the same just with new deadlines.

I had a scholarship that was going to cover like half of the tuition, and the CA Dream Act disbursement ended up covering the rest with some leftover money for books. I suggest you talk to your school's financial aid office and ask about the process. Good luck!

Yea, I am going to talk with the school's financial aid office but I've heard that many schools are still clueless plus I checked their website and all they have is a link to the CA Dream Act website so I'll see what happens. Thanks for your response.

I go to a Cal-State.

I forgot to say this one thing: I applied before May 10, which was the priority deadline. Because of that, they processed my information very quickly and I got my disbursement prior to Fall 2012.

Anybody who applied after May 10 will experience a longer process time.

Ditto, I go to CSULA and applied almost immediately after application was released. Still haven't heard a word from the school and I would really like to know what's up before Winter 2013.

I got the initial letter but nothing after that, I went to the financial aid office to ask and they told me that we would be notified through GET before winter quarter starts.

According to my school's AB540 financial adviser they haven't received the data yet, but that information was about 2 weeks ago. I haven't received any information lately so I'm guessing they still don't have the data to process the CA Dream applicants.
