Hello everyone.. I got pulled over yesterday for my tail lights being "too dark". The cop only gave me a warning for that, but since I don't have a DL he gave me a ticket.

My bio date is on 10/05/12 but I'm planning to try a walk-in. Could this ticket affect my DACA process??
Thanks.

Lucky you only got a ticket. Where are you from? In California they will tow away your car and then need to pay $1000 to get it back, if you are not lucky.

Damn that sucks,, I live in texas, here the only reason they tow away cars is if we don't have insurance, the ticket for no DL is about $250, I just hope it doesn't affect my DACA.

Nothing really, he asked me for a DL, I told him I didn't have one, then he asked for some type of ID so I gave him the mexican consular ID, he checked it, he asked me the questions they always ask, like where you going? where you coming from? have you ever been arrested? and that was it , he gave me the ticket. I didnt mention anything about DACA.

Hi txdreamr, the tickets you received will not go against you.
This is from the USCIS DACA FAQ:
Quote:
Q5:If I have a minor traffic offense, such as driving without a license, will it be considered a non-significant misdemeanor that counts towards the “three or more non-significant misdemeanors” making me unable to receive consideration for an exercise of prosecutorial discretion under this new process?
A5: A minor traffic offense will not be considered a misdemeanor for purposes of this process. However, your entire offense history can be considered along with other facts to determine whether, under the totality of the circumstances, you warrant an exercise of prosecutorial discretion.

were you given a court date? if so probably be in like 3 months? so maybe that will give you time to get your d.l and fight the ticket a bit. You'll probably just get a lower fine or maybe even won't get jail time depends on the state your in.

Thanks, I was already aware of that, but I'm kind of worried uscis will see too many traffict tickets in my record. I have 4 total which might not seem a lot but in situations like this we never know.

Yea , if I get approved (fingers crossed), I would be able to get a DL and get the ticket removed, but it all depends on how much time the court gives me, and how long it takes the EAD to get to me.
