So I left for college after sending in my application and left my family on watch for the mail since when I applied I still did not know what my college address was going to be.

Eventually they tell me that my older brother's ASC appointment arrived but not mine and this was after my application and I-797 came in a few days before my brother's. So it was a bit odd that he had gotten his appointment before mine. I told them to watch the mail everyday and notify me as soon as mine arrives.

30 days later nothing, a week before the 30 day mark I had called USCIS to ask about it and they told me to wait 30 days, my brother texted me saying my appointment arrived and that it was scheduled on 9/21 so it's like 10/01 and I'm like WTF. Apparently it arrived along with my brother's but they never bothered to read the envelope or look at it carefully.

So now I missed my biometrics appointment and did not know about it a week and days later after it was supposed to happen.

What do I do? I'm I screwed?

You need the letter and call USCIS. I'm thinking maybe with the letter you can do a walk in. It will be ok but contact them asap!!!

Hey, not wishing you nothing bad or anything, but in the appointment notice it says that if you fail to go to your appointment they will take it as if you are abandoning your case. You might want to call, and take care of this ASAP!!

I'm just afraid because they said that if you don't show up they will abandon your case without appeals or questions.

So I'm thinking about calling and saying that I never got my appointment in the mail (technically I was under that legit assumption until yesterday :c ) and see if maybe they can reschedule because of that.. or should I just explain everything?

I remember reading something like this too. Contact them ASAP. Change the address too.

Sorry about your family.

It's no big deal. Just go do a walk-in with the letter. If they say something, just have someone to reschedule the appointment.

Don't lie,You should call USCIS and tell them the situation NOW,in addition to having your parents either mail you the notice OR you get it personally. You can't take biometrics without that notice anyway.

Hmm, I will try to go today then and explain to the people at biometrics what happened. Hopefully is not a big deal like some of you are saying.
