Renewing your DL in Houston

Hey there. So my DL expired back in 08, Ive been looking at the website to see the steps to renew it after I receive my Work Permit and SS Card.

Is anybody in this situation, do we renew it, or do we apply for a new DL? Im confused about the process. Does anybody know how to go about it?

I'm not sure but I think you will apply again... I have one too but mine still current

You have to re take the test BC in Texas law after 90days your licence gets expired you would have to retake it. I'm n the same boat

No way! Aww man.... i was hoping to just walk in and renew it oh well. Good thing i've been driving so it shouldn't be difficult to pass the test.

Yep. No renewal. It's as if you never had it. Which is just a pain in the butt, but look at it this way: you'll have a license again

Bummer.... But as long as I get a license again Ill retake the test, no problem!!!!

I'm in ga and mine expired in 08 as well. I called and i have to take the computer test, pass, get my permit, then take the driving test to get my license. The lady said i could do it all on the same day if they have the availability so bess believe i'll be there right when they open and stay the whole day if i have to. Its a hassle and sucks ass lol but at least were able to get one so its a hassle i'll gladly take!

Can we take it all at he same day though???

What if I took it before in a driving school I think they can waive the test

It's not a big deal really. Just show up at 5:30 AM and get an appointment. Better yet, call and get an appointment and you'll have your license before lunch. Consider yourself lucky. I can't even drive by a DPS office anymore without getting emotional since I lost mine last year.
