I was approved on the 27th as you guys can see from my timeline. Everything else was delivered just fine and then I get a text from USCIS to check my online status on Oct. 4th.

I was expecting it around this time so I go on it and it says the following:

The USPS reported that your new card was delivered on October 4, 2012, directly to the address we had on file. If you did not receive your card, or have any questions, please call our customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

I checked again and nothing. I call USPS and they practically say they can't do anything, Great!
I call USCIS and they will start a case to investigate. It was a bummer, I was off on Thursday so I had my day all planned to head to SSA and apply for my social security.

I want to file the EAD application again to have it replaced, but it costs $$. I'm hoping someone returns it and doesn't use it. I don't mind the wait anymore because I know it will be solved, I'm just scared that my EAD is in someone's hands and not mine.

Moral of the story--- Become a hawk and spy on the mailman!! lol

Sorry about the trouble. Do you live by yourself? If not, i'm sure you've asked members of your household if it came in but ask again. I've heard stories like this before where they claim nothing came and it pops up weeks later.

Oh, and your avatar is very disturbing. It scares me.

I live with family. Only 2 people have keys. They are like hawks waiting for something to arrive. They would never ever so such a thing. We also checked with neighbors, and nothing.

I'm not saying they stole it but maybe brought it in with the "junk mail" and it got lost in the mix somehow. I'd just triple, quadruple check. Hope it turns up! Good luck!

They don't offer tracking or delivery confirmation for something like this?

I'm really sorry OP. USPS is such a mess. Once they claimed that they delivered a package and left a notice since I wasn't home.... But I was home and USPS never showed up. I work at home and never leave. Plus the dog barks whenever they come. I never got a notice about the missed drop-off.

They deliver when they feel like it. I would make a lot of complaints and they would be hearing from me every day.

sometimes it might say delivered but you won't actually get it in couple days.

since it's priority, if it doesn't come by tomrrow, go to USPS in your city.

When USCIS says that USPS reported that the card was delivered, do they have a tracking number to go with the mailing? Is it possible to inquire about it?

Because if you can find out who signed for it and who was the person who was supposed to deliver your mail on your route... maybe something can be done.

I'd kick my mailman's ass.

Hopefully they find it or send you a new one free of charge.

They must have tracking, otherwise how would USCIS know? They just don't provide that for me.

That's what happens when it's government run, who does one complain to? The guy I talked to just said they couldn't do anything--he said someone might have taken it, he dropped it, he lost it, anything could have happened. I'm like yeah.. well fuck me right? lol

Going to the USPS in your city is pointless unless you have a pink slip or a tracking number.
