Capital One. They gave me a credit card with my ittin # when I turned 18, and didn't verify if I worked.

I recently started a post about this. I'm applying for a student Discover card right now. It says I don't need any credit. So we'll see.. The only thing that is worrying me is that they are asking for my school information, but my name for school is different than the name on my social security card.

The ones below are good to start with. I started when I was in high school with Capital One and my credit history with them. They don't usually verify. Once you established your credit history apply for the ones I currently have that are not in the first list.
  • Capital One
  • Discover - Student
  • Bank of America

I currently have these credit cards:

American Express - Blue ( Very good card, but you must have very good credit score of 700 and above. I started with $6k credit line, had it for 5 years now)

Bank of America World Points: Started at$2,500

Capital One: Started at $500, have had it for 10 years now

Chase: Started at $3k

Citi: Started at $2k

Discover Card: $1,500

AMEX Blue - X
Cap One - X

I'm going to wait and open an account at a credit union and get some kind of secured credit. I got AMX to give me a card from my parents account in the mean time. Hopefully that gives me some credit.

Start with a basic card. Any basic card, more than likely wont give you an extremely huge credit limit, but you can progressively get it to increase (with good habits). Just to add one card that I've used:
Chase freedom
