********DACA announcement**********

Do you guys still remember that glorious days ?
What were your thoughts back then ?

I thought this was like a really super important sticky new groundbreaking news that will affect us all the way you put the title.

But yea, I woke up that day like at 1 and heard from a friend that something regarding Dream Act was put in effect. I was so damn happy that day.

Lol. 1pm. Damn. But yea I was in disbelief too. And very skeptical , but now that I'm approved I'm happy for it.

I was getting ready to get picked up to go to work when my mom called me to tell me about what Obama said I didn't care much cuz I had heard about so many things like it that i was like "Just something else that's not gonna get approved". Its crazy to think about it but now I'm a week away from maybe getting my licence!

Saw it on twitter at 9 am, called my brother to ask his law school friends if this meant anybody not in deportation proceedings could apply, then immediately went to different places to get a proof of presence for that day. Also called school district to get transcripts, i just thought "this is my chance and i'm gonna apply Aug 15th"

I was also in disbelieve since I had heared in that same week that a few governers had signed a petition to pass the dream act, so I thought I was just regarding the signed doc, then a few hours later I saw in CNN that they had done an executive order type of relief

I didn't believe it until President Obama came out to do his speech! I was very excited. I also thought this would create a lot of backlash with anti-immigration groups. But, its stayed pretty quiet. Except, on Univision. I still remember the reporter who kept interrupting President Obama!

Heeee dead.

I saw it on Twitter also. I rubbed my eyes, clicked on the link of the announcement, read it, closed it, then opened it again and read it. The joy was just too hard to put it in words.

I saw the news in this forum I used to check it like every 30 min back then....
