Stocks are complicated bro if you don't know what you are doing then you are going to lose money. You don't make money overnight either. I'm interested in it too. I have a friend of mine who gave his parents 5 thousand and with a couple months had over 10 grand. They did that to help him out since he was about to be a father but haven't done it since. They used their own accountant person or whatever. Dudes a surgeon owns his own floor in a hospital pretty successful guy. If I had the money I would do it, try my luck.

Yes it's possible. It's possible with an ITIN in some brokers. I have kept a personal portfolio since early 2011. It is tough and demands a lot of due diligence. If you neither the time nor the patience, I suggest investing in ETFs or no load mutual funds.

I also work in the industry, but I try to steer clear of conflicts of interest, so I'm not really in the business of pocking stocks. I'll gauge your penchant for risk, your goals, and your time frame to create a suitable allocation for your portfolio.

If you're seriously interested in getting started, I have tons of research pages. I can help you out with methodology and how to get started on your research.

Please help us. I like the idea of earning money separately from work. I like the idea of owning stocks and stuff like that. My dream is to become a house/building flipper and own lots and lots of real estate so I need all the money I can get. Please help out.

Been ready. Need cash first tho lol. Theres a lot of websites that allow you to play around with imaginary money until you get a feel for how the market works.

I'm pretty sure you don't need to be a perm. resident/citizen to invest. With a SSN, you CAN invest.

There are a few decent platforms where you can paper trade. VSE is one of them (www.marketwatch.com/game). OptionsHouse also has a paper trading system if you create an account there. These platforms are limited in that they don't allow you to trade a lot of securities. Some are on a 20-minute price delay, so it's a bit weak when a stock is moving quick on, say, earnings and you can't get filled at the price you placed your trade with.

There seems to be a decent interest in stock investing here, so I'll see if I can come up with a few articles on good researching practices. I'll try to have something up during the weekend. PM me if you have a general question in the meantime!

I too have been interested with stocks and investments but due to lack of money having been able to actually invest. I have a portfolio on marketwatch where you kind of simulate buying stocks and you can practice there. I started this over 2 years ago and i started with 10-15k(make believe money) and today my portfolio is worth about 40K(that would be almost 200%-300% profit) but I've learned a lot doing this althought there is no real money involved. (btw bought apple sock at $374 and it had almost double in price and it made about 40% of my overall profits)
