Where it said to say if we had ever apply for a work permit I said no. But I was just told by my mother that when I was 16. She paid this woman (notaria) money so that she can get me papers but of course it wasn't legit. The thing is that I don't think I have any papers from back then, it's been like 10 years so I am thinking about calling USCIS and letting them know, I am afraid I am going to be in trouble because they might think I lied but the thing is I didn't know. I moved out when I was 17.

I was a EWI

What do you guys think I should do?

You gotta find out more info and probably will have to find a lawyer to assist you.

If you didn't get any papers then you're fine. If you dont think you have any papers then that's what USCIS is asking you, did you have any papers? And according to you, you didn't. Also, you didn't apply for a work permit, somebody else did it for you and you were unaware (your mom did it for you)

Gosh I'm freaking out. I don't have money for a lawyer. I had to pay my siblings' application. I don't know what to do. Do you guys think I will get an intention to deny letter from them? All I really was to call them to update my address and let them know about the situation. Last time I talked to them they were very helpful and nice.

I didn't realize you'd already sent your app. Just wait to see what happens.

So your mom tried to get you papers but it didn't happen or you don't know? Did they actually submit paperwork to USCIS?

No, I didn't get any papers. All my mom said was that I was denied , I'm thinking it was because i was a ewi. I guess I'm wondering if she put her name or fake name as "my lawyer' on the I-765 application. I mean I was underage unless it's legit that you can get a permit if you are under 18.

Let it go, you were a minor at the time so was not aware of it. If uscis sees something on you in their data they will let you know and from there you can proceed with a lawyer. But for now it's better to keep your silence.

One question: Do you remember doing any fingerprint at uscis before?

Yeah, I guess someone told her that I could get papers before I was 18 so she paid this woman and she submitted my name, age, and address to USCIS. But that was all, I didn't even have a passport back then. Mom said I was deny because I didn't submit further evidence. Like the I-94 that I never had....I was too young to know any of this.

I remember I showed my school teachers that I was getting my papers and they told me to schedule for fingerprints and I think they scheduled for me. But I didn't go because I was afraid to be deported since I didn't have any of the stuff they had asked me to bring, like a government ID or something like that.
