CA ID & CA DL Permit Test: COMPLETE!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share that I am on track to get my CA DL finally! I went to the DMV with my social print out, took a couple pictures, and that's it!

Passed the permit test and only missed one, so I was happy about that

Appointment next Thursday for behind the wheel test!

Yes, no matter if you are over 18. I'm almost 19. You get your permit right after you pass your written test. You can make the behind the wheel test anytime after you get your permit. If you pass your driving test you can expect your DL soon

My process is swell. I have been approved and I should receive my EAD within 7 days. I will then go to SSA and get a SS#. And then pay a visit to my DMV. I live in Las Vegas, NV. There are only a few people from Nevada and I believe I am ahead of them. So I will go first and see if they accept the EAD as proof of identity. The DMV website is sort of vague on requirements. If they do, I will then get an ID, Permit, and DL!

I went to take my written test at the DMV as well in CA. I also missed 1 question and I will wait about month before I attempt the driving test. I don't want to fail and reschedule. lol

Sucks Luckily my process is going pretty fast. California service center is doing all right, I guess. My sister is stuck in the initial review though :/ We did Biometrics the same day and she hasn't been approved yet. :/

Nice! If you have already been approved for your EAD, I recommend going to SSA and applying for your social already. All I took was my EAD, passport, and birth certificate, as well as a translation. Some people are saying wait 10 days, but I went 3 days after I received the card, which made it 8. 2 days later, I was able to go and get a print out of my actual numbers which let me go to DMV and apply for DL and ID. Maybe Nevada is different, and maybe you feel safe waiting the 10 days. Just sharing with you

Nice! Congrats! I've been driving for quite a while, haha so I'm used to driving. I feel confident I'll pass, and I don't want to drive illegally anymore. Lol!
