If your DACA application was approved, you would have your employment authorization document, which would allow you to get your SS#. What are you worried about?

If this does happen, you'll most likely be talked to by HR and they'll say something like "something isn't registering right, please check your full name is spelled correctly and make sure your SSN is correct." After that, they'll make you read about 3 pages worth of stuff concerning how e-verify works and why yours might have come back negative. At the very bottom of the page there are two choices, either the red pill or the blue pill.

Nah, I'm just kidding.

One of the two choices are to contest the error (which is what you WILL do), which would make you go down to the local SSA office to personally verify your elegibilty to work and bring something back to HR confirming such information. You will have 10 days to complete this action. The second choice is decline to contest, which pretty much means you acknowledge the information and choose to do nothing about it. It also comes with the breif warning that choosing not to contest gives the employer full power to terminate your employment (which they 99% most likely will) on the sole basis that e-verify was unable to.. well.. verify you.

One important thing to keep in mind: Should e-verify come back with a problem, choosing "do not contest" does not admit that you are an illegal immigrant. All it means is that the information you provided does not seem to register and respond with valid work authorization.

Indeed,DACA holds many implications and considering to qualify most individuals have been here for sometime I think this is a moment in time of "The Great Transition of the Lost Generation".

I'll start my job on November 12th.
They use e-verify. I will update you once I go through the process.
