For those of you preparing to get your driver's license, I have put together a modest study guide for the behind the wheel exam. If interested here it is:

http://dreamact.info/forum/showpost....4&postcount=35

I took the exam last week and failed because I simply did not prepare since I've already been driving for a long time and mistakenly thought that would be enough.

There are specific points that DMV examiners look for and it is important to be aware of what they are beforehand. Don't want people making my mistake and not prepare thus decreasing their chance to pass. This is all for the exam in California, but maybe it can help those of you from other states as well.

This is great! I'm taking my behind the wheel Thursday morning in California and I didn't know they asked for the hand signals. Knew the basic stuff, been driving for a while, I hope I pass! Good luck to you!

Thanks for the info. All my friends who took the CA DMV test just went to youtube and typed "california dmv written test 2012" and it shows all the answers.

Wow thats a great guide.

Just one quick question if you could help me out, I'm 21 but I've never taken a drugs and alcohol class that we were required to take back in high school if we were going to get our permits. I live in Miami, FL. If I want to take the class would I just look for one online? I see that at http://www.123driving.com/ the DATA class is 30 bucks. Is that generally how it works or is it supposed to be free?

Thanks for the info, I've been wondering about this for a while and wanted to know exactly what goes on when you take a driver's test.

Couple of questions:

1. Are all tests the same across all states, or do they differ?
2. How much does it cost?
3. Are you supposed to keep your hands on the steering wheel at all times?
4. We're suppose to bring our own vehicle?

Thanks so much for this!! Comes in super handy for some of us. I had no idea about the hand signals and all that other stuff they ask you to show them. I have to go over and look at everything in my car. Some of the stuff in my car is automatic like wipers and lights and stuff so I'm not sure where they are at.

Also will they notice if I drive myself there? Hahaha I know it's a stupid question but the only day I can go is Wednesday morning, that's my day off work but I have class at 12:30 so I want to take the test and then go to school.
