Yes, anyone can come with you, but they also need to provide valid ID. You really don't need anything else other than your passport (or other form of ID) and your appointment letter.

I just know that since I was over the age of 18 they kindly asked my mother to leave because the waiting area was reserved for the person doing biometrics. This was in Santa Ana, CA. Maybe if you said that you needed them for some reason they would allow it. Or if you're under 18 you don't have to worry about it.

Damn that's messed up lol.

At the very bottom of your appointment letter it reads:

Due to limited seating availability in our lobby area, only persons who are necessary to assist with transportation or completing the biometrics worksheet should accompany you....

I went to the ASC in Riverside, CA. There were a bunch of people in there accompanying the ones that were waiting for their name to be called. It will depend on the ASC you go to.

None of them had to provide ID like the above poster said.

My process took about 15-20min.

I don't like to take other people with me to apts. only because I have that same rule when I'm working *No kids or companions.
Sometimes rules like this are necessary. There's people that if allowed, WILL show up with 3 kids, 2 nephews, and 2 cousins.
Unless the person is blind, unable to read or write, I find it normal asking the mother to leave. But thats just me

I went to the one in Riverside, Ca too. Many had guests with them. I took a buddy of mine, since I had my daughter with me, just in case they wouldn't let us in so he can watch her... but it was no big deal. My daughter was right next to me when they took my prints, my picture, and signature. But it really depends on the center, they can be really strict, or laid back like the Riverside office. I read about security guards checking your bio appt, this one only had a front desk lady just yelling, "HAVE YOUR IDS READY AND NOTICE READY" Lol.
