I have been working in an insurance agency for 5 years with an engineering degree... I was regretting these experiences, because it had no relations with my future career choice. I worked because I needed to fund my tuition and living expense.

After DACA and going through the process of getting a license... I finally found something worth working in this industry... I got to generated my own quote... gave myself driving experience (driving illegally LOL) and best of yet, I got group discounts and more by adding myself under my mom's policy.

I am taking my behind the wheelie next week!~

Hey I just got approved and I'm going to be getting my license soon and planning to get a car. I was just wondering what's the best way to get the cheapest insurance rate? It sucks because I will be considered a new driver and I just got my license at age 29 so my insurance quotes are through the roof. Like you, I have also been driving without a license since I was 20 lol so how do you give yourself "driving experience" on your insurance quote? I would like to put the insurance under my name but would it be better if I put it under my dad's name? He's got his license for a long time now but he's never owned a car. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you get an agent you know in person... they can just give you the experience credit when they input in the system to generate the quote. It's matter of trust.. the insurance company will not ask for any proof of some sort. Tell the agent the situation, some representative will be willing to take any business, because the market is really competitive right now.
