I got my DL on the 12th, but it still hasn't arrived. I know people who applied after me who has gotten their DLs. I was talking to someone and they said it's because I am getting the 2 year one. I am upset about that. Any suggestions as to if I can do anything about that?

Got a 2 year license. I don't mind as long as they let us renew it.

It is up to the person doing your application. Some give the whole 5 years but some go along with the date on your EAD card, which is 2 years. It's just the luck of the draw.

This will be TRUE if OBAMA wins! Don't count on Romney to let us renew.

I wouldn't care... 2 or 5 years, just the fact that we will be able to legally drive!

Yes, Romney already said that we can kiss any hopes of renewing goodbye

I received my DL in the mail today and to my surprise it expires on my birthday 5 years from now. There were some errors with it regarding my last name and so I went to the DMV today to try and get it resolved. However, when I got the DMV they closed the door on the line.

I'm a little bothered that I have to go return it because I will have to wait again for it to be corrected and returned to me. Also, I'm nervous that once corrected it will have an earlier expiration date. Since I won't be able to go to the DMV the remainder of this week, I'll try to enjoy the card as much as I can this weekend!

they're giving them out for 5 years dude, at least in SOCAL.....reason for the delay is because CA DMV has a new license and they were backed up....

NEW APPLICANTS usually take longer to receive their licenses!

relax.
