Hey all,

The online college admission asks for Citizenship status. There is Permanent Resident, Temporary Resident/Amnesty, Other, and etc.

Would I now qualify as a Permanent Resident because I have a EAD number and soon SS+ D/L number? What will you all put as citizenship status when you apply at community colleges?

Hopefully I don't have to pay out-of-state or International fees. Thanks all!

Put other. So when you get catagorized as a non resident, you can sign the ab540 for exemption from paying out of state fees for tuition

Thanks for that info. I did not get my EAD card but does the EAD have the new Alien registration number and its expiration date?

LOL at the other comments.

Are you going to input your SSN when applying to colleges as well? And wouldnt that mean we can now get Financial Aid?

Good question, maybe someone can reply if they got their EAD+SS+DL cards and recently visited the financial aids office. I'm going to put my new SS# when I apply.

I cant seem to find an answer to this. In order to apply and be eligible for FAFSA you need a SSN. Now that we are being granted that, wouldnt that mean we are NOW eligible for FAFSA or are there more requirements we dont meet to apply for FAFSA?

Only LPRs and USCs are eligible for FAFSA. It is a serious crime to get FAFSA when you are not either an LPR or USC.

They will find out eventually. My sister is a USC, they ran her number through DHS every time she applied for FAFSA.
