Sorry if this has been answered before.

My EAD came with my two last names (Paternal and Maternal) as Surname even though in the application I only listed my paternal.

My question is, Does the SS card have to match that long ass name? or putting one is ok?

My gut feeling is that it should match the EAD, but all my other documents such as school records etc only have my paternal surname.

Any input is appreciated.

Also, I know DLs do not recognize two last names and they put some ugly hyphen when you give them two.

I guess I am stuck using two last name from now on.

When I applied for my SSN I only put the paternal last name on the application. When she reviewed my application and EAD she told me I must also carry my maternal last name because it appeared on my EAD. As far as my middle name, she omitted it because SSA does not consider your middle name part of your legal name.
I received my card in the mail with my first name and both last names, no middle name or middle initial.

Okay thank you very much for your response. I will put it in my application then.

I was wondering the same too. I will have no choice but to put my maternal last name as well.

don't worry about E-Verify errors because if the manager can't find you in the system he/she would ask you for letter from the SS office.

So what are you trying to say?

And Johan, let me know what you took today with you to show them. A matrícula is good enough right?

You need your birth certificate or passport and EAD.
