Murdock is done.

"It's all over but the crying," Christine Matthews, a GOP pollster for Bellwether Research, wrote in a release with the Howey poll.

Richard Mourdock--the Indiana Republican Senate candidate who sparked a controversy during a debate last month when he said he opposes abortion even in the case of rape because "it is something that God intended to happen"--is now trailing Democrat Joe Donnelly by 11 points, a new state poll shows.

According to the Howey/DePauw Indiana Battleground Poll released on Friday, Donnelly leads Mourdock 47 percent to 36 percent among likely voters.

In September, the same survey found Donnelly and Mourdock were virtually tied (with Donnelly 40 percent to 38 percent), but it appears women have largely abandoned Mourdock in the wake of the firestorm surrounding his comments. According to the new poll, conducted between Oct. 28 and Oct. 30, 50 percent of female voters support Donnelly, while just 32 percent favor Mourdock.

According to the Courier-Journal, Mourdock's campaign disputed the independent poll as "Democratic," saying their internal numbers show the race "continues to be a statistical dead heat." According to a McLaughlin & Associates poll conducted for the Mourdock campaign, he actually holds a slim lead (46 percent to 44 percent) over Donnelly.

But others are already conceding the seat vacated by Republican Sen. Richard Lugar, who lost to Mourdock in the primary.

"It's all over but the crying," Christine Matthews, a GOP pollster for Bellwether Research, wrote in a release with the Howey poll.

VERY GOOD NEWS. I am excited about election day. On that day, we will have some grounds for making educated predictions on CIR/DA.

Good news indeed. I'm hoping Chris Murphy in the Connecticut Senate race can secure a seat as well. This lady Linda McMahon is a pure witch.

I saw a debate between these candidates. I think Murphy destroyed her. Linda sucks. Oh, and I thought Vince McMahon was the evil one. She is a big time . . . . fill in the blank_____!

I am going to see if I can find some good polls on this senate race.

Linda McMahon has spent an INCREDIBLE amount of money...anywhere close to $50 - 70 million. Connecticut is a fairly small state but it is one that houses influential and wealthy people. She is doing EVERYTHING possible to snatch this seat from Joe Lieberman. She even came up with an ad where there's a bunch of people holding up signs saying, "I support Obama and Linda McMahon" She knows for a fact this state will be voting blue for the presidential election. Lets just put it this way. I am more nervous about this race than the Presidential one. I saw those debates too and Chris Murphy seriously comes off as a genuine candidate who cares about the state.

Keep in mind, Donnelly is no ally of us. He's essentially a Bluedog Democrat since Indiana is extremely right-leaning. It is good that he is winning over the much more crazier Mourdock, but let's not celebrate just yet.

Very true. In fact, I checked Donnelly's website, and he is only in favor of enforcement-only reforms in the area of immigration. But, he might be more inclined to compromise in the end????????????

I am excited about Tuesday.
