For real...Not trying to get all sentimental or anything. But today, right at this moment, I feel very very American even though I am not on paper. I've not been affected by Hurricane Sandy but I can still literally feel what my friends and everyone else must be going through in New York in New Jersey. Sandy missed my location by just a whisker. The elections are on this tuesday and I am dead sure Obama is poised to maintain his seat. But I'm also experiencing a feeling of camaraderie towards the Romney camp. I really really hope this win for Obama brings out those GOP congressmen/women who are willing to compromise. Its just a mix of emotions. If anybody can relate, feel free to share.

It's all good man. I understand you. I feel American too. In fact, I would die for this country. Some of you might criticize me for saying this, but I associate this great country with all the wonderful Americans who are my friends. I love this country.

Me too 2Face! Its been building up for a long time now. Now more than ever, this will become my permanent and (I hope) lifelong home. I will get involved and discuss the problems of today regardless of my status. I have lived here most of my life. No one cannot say I am not American. I am a Dreamer!

Although I am all the way in the West, I am still touched by the effect of Hurricane Sandy! A lot of my friends and fellow Dreamers have been affected by the hurricane. But I am glad to say a lot of people have stepped up in order to help each other out. Namely, those in power, and our very own: President Obama.

I like to stay positive. A lot of positive can come from the bad. Although Hurricane Sandy created a lot of damage, its given the US a chance to rebuild. Its the perfect time for government to start creating new jobs. There is a LOT of infrastructure to rebuild! I hate to get political from a serious event, but I believe Sandy has guaranteed Obama his victory. A lot of people have begun comparing Obama's handling of Sandy to Bush's handling with Katrina. Also, include the fact that Romney is in favor of cutting FEMA....It is no contest.

I believe Obama will win. And I also believe a lot of Americans are starting to notice the radical steaming pile coming from the GOP. I also believe things for Dreamers will become a lot better. Lets stay positive.

I felt american the day I started school here. Little second grader me learning the pledge of alligiance and asking santa to gift me the english languge on my first christmas here. I feel the same way you do. I too would die for this country. i believe this country has the means to change and progress. Its just sad that some people are too closed minded and think that we should go back to 200 year old ideas.

I know no other country as my home. I, too, am willing to die for this country. America FTW.

I am American in every way except on paper. I grew up in the American culture, my head is filled with American ideology, I know my politics, my history and the American community that I am an active part of. I believe in the American dream, where immigrants can come here with nothing and still have the opportunity to make something out of themselves. I know many people in American had forgotten what its like to chase after the American Dream that their ancestors fought for, since they received all these privileges and bounty at birth, but we didnt and so we learn to appreciate more and we WILL appreciate more once we have it. The Dream lives, and we shall continue fighting for its reality.

I have just started to realize that I've always felt more American than Mexican. I'd like to say I'm Mexican-American but apparently only people who are born here but have Mexican ancestry can say that or something. I too love this country and have even thought of joining the military as well if it was ever possible. One day I hope that I will be able to become a USC no matter how long it takes I will wait it's something that will mean the world to me and it's my very own American Dream. I know DACA doesn't make us legal but it does make me feel a little more like I belong. I'm less afraid and more optimistic. Fellow dreamers I wish y'all the best!

This has nothing to do with being an American.
It is to show that we are caring humans who feel for other's lives that have been changed forever.
