Im not sure a thread like this has been started yet so I apologize ahead of time in case it has. Anyway, I would like for the people who already took their permit exam to share the questions that they were asked and specify what state you are from.

I planned in going for my permit exam today but the lady there was being a bitch about the papers I brought as proof of residence in MA so I will go back next Thursday or as sooner depending on when my transcripts arrive. Anyway, needless to say I am freaking out about this exam and I just wanted to get a feel for what the questions are like. Thanks

I've taken it before here in Illinois cept mine has already expired, you should try and find a practice exam on the secretary of state page online depending on your own state. The questions are pretty simple and common sense plus multiple choice. Mainly about rules of the road and sign meanings and what not.

I took mine for CA and it was very easy. The questions are pretty much common sense. Be sure to pick up a manual from the DMV to study and read it entirely. I only read it once and I only missed one on the test. The question went something like, " If a police officer signals you to continue into an intersection at a red light do you... A. Do as he says B. Stop then do as he says C. Do not do as he says because you cannot go at a red light." Obviously it was either A or B but ini mini miny moe said B haha. I'm sure you'll pass your first time Let us know how it goes

Haha you got that wrong I got the large trucks question wrong. It was about a large truck turning right if it was allowed to take up more than one lane to complete the turn.

Idk about Maryland but in CA it is a paper test and multiple choice. The test has 36 questions with 3 answers to choose from and can only get 6 wrong to pass. Check your state's DMV website.

I know in Maryland its 22 questions and you can only get 3 wrong, but I'm not sure if its a paper or computer test & I will check.

Very common questions on the Illinois written test. They have about 20 Road Sign questions where they show you a road sign and you match it with the names of 22 sings (you are left with 2 not being used) as well as things such as what to do when your car skids, what happens when two cars pull up at a 4 way stop and right of way etc. as well as pulling over for police so it's all just common sense. Look up some practice tests for your state.
