Has anyone been able to register online yet?

I know I can register via mail, but I am wondering if I should wait a couple of weeks.

I just got my SSN last week and when I tried registering online it said that the number was not in the database.

If anyone was successful in registering online, how long did it take after getting their SSN?

Also, I applied for a credit card that is meant for people with bad or no credit history and I was turned down. Did anyone successfully apply for a nonsecured credit card?

Thanks

If you can't do it online, do it by mail. Easy.

Mail is quick and easy. Just walk in mail out the form, 40 cents for the stamp, and mail it.

I thought uscis automatically registers you when you file for a SSN.

Please read the question before dismissing it with your haughtiness.

What am trying to find out is how long it takes before our new SSN's are uploaded into a variety of databases, the Selective Service being one.

Next time refrain from answering.

Just wait a couple of weeks or if you have not tried ask one of those pro-cir/dream act organizations they might know.

Not quite good sir (or ma'am), you've got to take the initiative to register on your own. Even if you're undocumented, you're still obligated to register upon reaching the age of 18 (if you're a male).

Quick to quip, aren't you?

I'm speaking out of experience. I've had my number since '90 and it wasn't registering on the site either. I mailed in my form and got back a verification card, and that was that.

No harm done and no harm intended.

I never knew about the selective service program before. I don't even remember being informed about it at all. Now I am over 25 and I never signed up for it. I Also found out that you can't register if you are over 25 and you would never be able to get any government jobs including the army. Am I screwed now? Would I ever be able to join the army once the Dream Act pass?

I signed up in July. I went to my local post office, and asked for one of the registration forms. I filled it out, and sent it out. Easy peasy.

I received my social security number at the end of last month. I sent a copy of my registration card plus a copy of my ssn to Selective Service to update my registration. I checked my registration online a few days ago and it was updated!
