I just started working at bk, working there to get experience. Anyone else land a job at a fast food place? And how long do u guys think I should stay to be able to use them as references for future job applications? I was thinking maybe a month and a half is fine?

month and a half? that's nothing. It should be minimum a year unless you have issues with your superiors and/or coworkers.

I mention this because most places require at least one year experience.

A month and a half of working is way too short. Like Icanonlydream said, a minimum of a year is a good to stay at a place to gain experience.

A month? No way! Be prepared to be there a while, make friends, and create a network.

Stay there 0 days, let an American HS dropout take your position. Aim higher.

That's one case where you could leave earlier right if you've found a better offer? But I heard that you won't be able to put them down on resume/reference am I right?

A BK-style reference (any "preliminary" job types, really) aren't even supposed to be on your resume if you're applying to a career-centric job. If you want to be, for example, a computer engineer, investment banker, or an accountant, having petty experience at Burger King doesn't do you much justice.

Yea to be honest, you'd be better off working in retail (stores like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc.). They don't require any experience either, for the most part, and you'd also get paid a little bit more. I'm telling you this from experience. I worked for about three years at a well known restaurant chain. Two of those years as a shift manager. I quit earlier this year (got tired of the abuse lol) and since then, the experience I gained there hasn't really been of much use to me. I've applied for several jobs in the last few weeks and I have not gotten a single call back. Lucky for me, I have a temporary job.
