EAD = Employment Authorization Document (it's a work permit)

DACA = Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (it's an executive order of Pres. Obama to defer certain illegal young immigrants)

EAD is employment authorization. DACA itself is a form of temporary protected status letting you have legal presence, but not legal status.

And how do you plan on qualifying for a work permit.

First you need to qualify for DACA. Which is what we sent all of the documents for. After we are granted DACA, we are able to apply for a work permit (EAD) which is the I-765 application we sent along with our DACA application.
