I wonder if 5 years matter if your EAD expires in 2 years, I guess saves you the time of applying for a DL all over again then if you are able to renew

The 5 years won't matter if your EAD expires but it's still a good thing to have a valid looking DL, its better than nothing.

The card is fine lol.

I don't see why you would want to laminate a laminated card.

Laminception.

yeah I dont get people who are getting pissed about the fact that your DL experiences when you EAD and paying the extra fee to get 6 or 8 years more

It's illegal to laminate a driver's license/socialsecuritycard/EAD.

Just buy a plastic cover for it. In certain places like clubs, banks, goverment offices you swipe your card. I think the highway patrol and cops do it too. but, not sure.

Are you saing you got a 5 year CA DL they were supposed to be for 2 how did you get so lucky?

Thanks for all the input guys..i guess i wont laminate it but it does feel flimsy compared to older CA DLs ive seen..I dont know why some people got 2 yr licenses and others got 5 yr ones. Mine expires on my birthday in 2017.
