I´d like to move from CA to NM because I need a dl before the "real ID act" comes in. But because I have too much to fly I might need to drive.
So I thought of getting a rental (no problem for me) or finding someone for ride-sharing.
So I know that I need to go the "northern route" (Nevada, Utah, Colorado) if I drive by myself.
But how would it be if I did the ride-share thing as a passenger? In case the cops stop the driver will the ask me for my paperwork?
BTW: I´m an overstayer and don´t qualify for the dream act.
Thanks for any kind of information...

Hmm I don't think you will be stopped as long you get a ride from a white friend

Real talk

Sad, but true.

Make sure to dress neatly to avoid being profiled. Bring your letter of deferred deportation, EAD, and any other ID you have. If you go through a checkpoint they will ask for it.

I took the "Grand Circle Route" for my summer road trip through AZ this year without any problem. I have not seen any checkpoint on these place.
