So im hopping to get a car soon (will be splitting the car price with my bro as we both want a car but dont need one as much as to buy one for each) My question is how much would insurance be on average for us since we will be getting our licenses for the first time. I live in NY and was looking to get a 2010 Nissan Maxima how much should I expect to pay in insurnace? BTW if you have a car in a another state how much do you pay for car insurance?

that's about what it's here in illinois. $110ish for full coverage, but since i'm cheap, I pay ~$35 for liability. Have been insured for ~6 years too. when i first started out it was about ~$110 just for liability and full coverage was around $275. ha.

^ how are you guys have been insured for 6~7 years without DL?

to OP: you're looking at $400~600 per month since you never had insurance before.

get a free quote and GEICO.com but other insurance companies give you similar price..

Around $800 per year, liability only. I've had a DL for more than 10 years though. I'd be cheaper if my younger sister wasn't on my insurance lol

Surprised by some of the responses im reading..I wouldn't be madd if I had to pay 2-3k per year since im a new driver in one of the most expensice states but 400-600 a month is flat out ridiculous if its that much I would just stick to my $104 a month unlimited metrocard and save the money for something else...

I live in Oregon and I pay around $130 for 2 cars, just liability.

P.S. I have one movement violation and a operating a mobile device...can't wait til next year so hopefully it would go down.

Oh yeah, I have the student discount which does save you money!!!!!!!!!!
