Have you guys applied for jobs and used both your last names?

I have all my docs with both my last names so I'm wondering if I should use my paternal last name or both....

I've always used just my paternal last name....so, what do you guys plan on using?

Same here, I plan to use both surnames from now on. Just to be on the safe side.

I'm 100% sure I'm the only natural Portuguese-born person in the universe that has only 2 names. First and last. Not even a middle name.

Since I came to this country everything is my name and my last name nothing else. I don't even have a middle name. So mine is only one last name. Maternal last names aren't used in this country. Sometimes it causes confusion because most think your first last name is actually your middle name. Lol. I'm glad I use only one.

But since we are talking docs I would say use as its on your documents.

Your parents just registered you with one last name super dude. You can say you are lucky because it meets the American practice of using only one last name?

When my parents went to register me, they told them my first name they chose and my last name and the registrar at the hospital told my parents I HAD to have a middle name. My parents refused. The registrar was like "well, it's customary so you have to", and my parents were like "well, he's my kid so go to hell"... in harsher words I might add. So the registrar finally felt obliged to register my parent's child as they so pleased.

And so I have a very simple name.

I'm only using one last name. First of all, to avoid confusion, 2nd that's how all my new documents are. Don't need my maternal last name. lol.
