i received my ead today! here i come work! lol anyways, ima go to a social security office this week, and ill be taking my passport and card...is it like the dmv for those who have already gone? When my sister went years ago she said it got full, the earlier the better? oh! and can you go in person and receive your number that day or no? thanks!

Approval: Aprroved on 11/16/12, recieved E.A.D on 11/24/12!

Yes, go very early. It gets full quick. I doubt you will get your number that day. It takes a couple days to get a number, and about 10 days for you to actually receive you SSC in the mail. It's quick & easy.

Hey today was my 15th day since I applied for my ssc. I was told I'd receive it in 2 weeks. Dont wana freak out but most ppl got theirs in less than a week. Applied on nov 9. Is there anyone out there who got theirs after 2 weeks and applied in nov?

Maybe business days? If it doesn't come this week you should let them know.

I have a question about the ssn offices as well. Can I take just my birth certificate and ead as proof of identity? Because I don't have a current passport or consular id.

They asked for my passport but I didn't bring it. I brought my birth certificate instead and they accepted it.

Ok cool just to be clear you brought just your birth certificate and your ead and you were able to apply?
