Ask the dealer for the carfax. If they really want to sell it they will give you a copy.

He is probably trying to buy it from a private party.

Just lease Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic or Hyundai Sonata for less than $200/month.. even if the car breaks down, the dearship will pay for the repair but you have to return the car after 3 years..

If you want to buy a used car, make sure it's Japanese cars like Toyota or Lexus because if your car breaks down, Japanese car parts will cost you less than European or American car parts so you repair will cost less not to mention you will save on gas. On top of that, Lexus has the best resale value, meaning, when you want to sell Lexus after a number of years, you will get more $ from selling Lexus as opposed to European or American cars.

But overall, because I assume that you don't want to deal with taking care of used cars, leasing is a better choice for you.. they all come in pretty white colors

uh, what? No. Foreign cars are a lot more expensive to repair than domestic cars. Foreign cars, however, tend to be a bit more reliable than domestic cars.

that depends on dealership.

in immigrant-friendly neighborhoods, most likely, they let you lease even with no credit history. they might ask you for co-signer (your dad) or charge you more for down payment though..

whether they lease to those with no credit depends on case-by-case basis.
