Hey Dreamers,
I would like to know if DACA recipients are allow to claim in state tuition here in Florida. Yesterday I went to the records office to apply and she told me I couldnt because DACA only offer temporary status and that I would have to wait for state to clarify in this issue. I know a lot of you have been commenting on this matter but has anyone been granted in-state tuition so far ? I know all the colleges have their website and say they will but has anyone been granted so far ?

Which school did you apply to? I know that FAU, FIU, UF and a couple of community colloges do too. I am planning to apply to Valencia later this week.

I apply to Santa Fe. She directed me to http://www.flvc.org/flvc/portal/Home...vZ0FBIS9nQSEh/ and said thats where we get our guidelines and every college and university of the state of Florida.
I Also went to Valencia and visit before DACA was ever mention ( before june 2012 )and the lady told me I couldn't even be accepted in Valencia college (either in-state or out-state or intl) because of my status so let me know how it goes. I believe the lady in Valencia was from the International Dept (Asian). I hope things have changed.

Sorry I don't know about Santa fe. but if schools like UF, and FIU are putting it in their guidlines then maybe there is hope.

Yeah I went to Valencia before DACA too and a lady said no to me too. About the other schools accepting us for sure I don't know, I got that info from the "schools who give instate tuition thread".

Yeah I will let you know what they say, I already sent an email and the guy didn't know what deffered action was lol.

I really hope for the best and if you get in-state please let me know so I can follow those guidelines. And let the college know that they are wrong. Like I said sf also had on their website but she said no... also at firs she didn't know what it was either.
