I hope this is a trend that will continue. For a while, the trend was the other way around after 9/11. I wish they would make them all be the same like in Washington, but for people living there, it's great and for the residents there it's great to put safe drivers on the road with insurance rather than those who have nothing with them.

Other states that already allow DL to undocumented immigrants are New Mexico and Washington.

The requirements have not been posted as of yet. Might take a month before they announce official requirements and accepted documentation, but it was said to have 2 forms of valid IDs (consular & unexpired passports accepted) and to prove you have lived in IL for at least one year.
