St. Albans, Vt. is home to one of the nation's four U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service centers. Every year this facility processes more than 1,000,000 immigration applications that do not require interviews.

they are clearly understaffed. around 4000 to 5000 applications per day and only 800 workers.

Actually that is a completely different subject.U visas are done only by the VAWA unit who also deal with T and VAWA applications and I assume have a different form of training than other regular individuals at VSC.There is also a hard quota with regards for U visas in addition to legal representatives appear to becoming more aware and astute in what the guidelines for applying are,hence more individuals applying.
